LeBron Raymone James Sr. is an American professional basketball player that is a player with the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. Nicknamed King James he is widely considered one of the greatest athletes of all time. He is frequently compared to Michael Jordan in debates over the best basketball player of all time. James holds 4 NBA championships. Four NBA MVPs. Four NBA Finals MVPs. Three All-Star MVPs. And two Olympic golds. James is the holder of the highest amount of points scored during the post-season, second best overall career score and 7th the most assists in his career. He has been selected to be an NBA All-Star 18 times to the All-NBA Team a record 18 times. He was also selected on his place on the NBA All-Defensive First Team five times. He was the third player to participate in NBA Finals. Eight of those were consecutive from the year 2011 until 2018. James has been chosen for an NBA 75th Anniversary Team and became the NBA's first player who has scored 10,000+ points, rebounds, and assists throughout his career. He will be the first to do so in 2022. James was a basketball player at St. Vincent St. Mary High School in Akron in Ohio. He was hailed by national media as the future NBA super star. In 2003, the Cleveland Cavaliers took him first in the NBA draft, as a pre-pro. He was voted the NBA rookie of the year in 2004. He soon became one of the best players in the NBA and was awarded both the NBA MVP Award both the years 2009 and 2010. James signed a free-agent contract in 2010 after failing to win championships with Cleveland. The decision to quit Cleveland to join Miami Heat, announced on the show on television The Decision, is considered one of the controversial free-agent actions in sports history.
